Terms of Use

Please read these terms before you use B-Doz. We wrote them to be easy to understand.

1. About these terms

B-Doz is an app and a website (bdoz.app) made by Danova, a technology startup in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq founded by Danial Shearwan. In these terms, "B-Doz", "we" and "us" mean Danova. "You" means anyone who uses B-Doz.

By creating an account or using B-Doz, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use B-Doz.

2. Who can use B-Doz

• You must be at least 17 years old.
• If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or guardian knows about and agrees to your use of B-Doz, and to any agreement you make through it.
• B-Doz is for university students looking for housing, roommates and student offers, and for landlords renting out places. A student may also list a room in their own home.
• Give true information, keep it up to date, and use only one account.
• Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else is using it, tell us at support@bdoz.app.

3. What B-Doz does, and what it doesn't

B-Doz helps students and landlords find each other and talk. We are not a landlord, a real estate office or a broker, and we are not a party to any rental contract, deal or roommate arrangement. Any agreement is between the people who make it.

There are no payments inside B-Doz. Rent and deposits are paid directly between student and landlord, outside the app. Don't pay anyone before you have seen the place and are sure the offer is real.

When a student and a landlord both confirm a deal in the app, we keep a record of it. This record helps us run B-Doz. It is not a rental contract.

4. Listings

• Only list a place you have the right to rent out, and follow the laws and rules on renting property that apply where it is.
• Be honest about the price, location, room type and what is included. Keep your listing up to date, and remove it when it is no longer available.
• Our team reviews new listings before students can see them. We can reject, hide or remove any listing, for example if it seems false, misleading, unsafe or against these terms.
• Our review is not a guarantee. Always visit a place and check it before you agree to rent it.
• A price shown in the other currency (dinar or dollar) is converted at an approximate rate and is only a guide. The landlord's own price is the one that counts.
• Landlords may be asked to pay B-Doz a fee for listing. Any fee and its conditions are agreed with you before you pay, and it is paid outside the app.

5. Roommate matching

We suggest roommates using the answers students give, and we only match students of the same gender. A match score is a suggestion, not a promise that you will get along. Meet and talk before you decide to live with someone.

6. Student offers and ads

Offers and ads come from local businesses. Each business sets its own discount and conditions and is responsible for its products and services. Offers can change or end at any time, and a business may refuse a code it believes was misused.

7. Messages and reviews

• Be respectful in chats. Messages are for finding housing and roommates.
• Students can write text reviews of landlords they have chatted with. Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience, and must not include insults or other people's private information.

8. Zero tolerance for harmful content and behaviour

We do not allow abusive users or objectionable content. You must not:

• post false listings, fake reviews or misleading information;
• scam, threaten, harass, insult or blackmail anyone, or pretend to be someone else;
• post sexual, violent or hateful content, or content that insults any religion, ethnic group or community;
• share anyone's private information or photos without their permission;
• share anything that sexually exploits or endangers children;
• use B-Doz for anything illegal, for spam, or for advertising we haven't agreed to;
• copy data from B-Doz, or try to break, overload or get around its security.

9. Reports, blocking and enforcement

You can report a listing, a review, a chat or a person, and block anyone. We review reports and act on them as quickly as we can. We can remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with or without warning. Where the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety, we may share information with the competent authorities.

10. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post (listings, messages, reviews and profile details). You allow Danova to store, show and process it inside B-Doz so the service can work, for as long as it stays on B-Doz. You confirm that you have the right to post it.

11. Our rights

The B-Doz name, logo, app, website and design belong to Danova. You may not copy, change or reuse them without our written permission.

If you believe content on B-Doz uses your work or your rights without permission, email support@bdoz.app with the details of the content, what it infringes, and how to contact you. We will review it and remove the content if needed.

12. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile, then Delete account. What we delete and what we keep is explained in our Privacy Policy and on our support page.

13. No guarantees

We work hard to keep B-Doz useful and safe, but we provide it "as is". We can't promise that listings, users, offers or the app will always be accurate, available or free of errors.

14. Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, Danova is not responsible for loss or damage that comes from rental agreements, deals, payments, roommate arrangements or offers between users and others, from content posted by users, or from not being able to use B-Doz. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.

15. Changes

We may update B-Doz and these terms. If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using B-Doz after that, you accept the new terms.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws in force in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and by the federal laws of Iraq where they apply. If you have a problem with B-Doz, please contact us first so we can try to solve it. If we can't, the competent courts of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq will decide.

These terms are published in Kurdish, Arabic and English. If the versions differ, the English version applies.

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
